Application context

For a large casting or a heavy batch, access to the load can determine the furnace layout. A car-bottom arrangement allows the workpiece to be positioned outside the chamber before the car travels into the heating enclosure. The workshop view shows that loading sequence in its physical form.

The process challenge

Bring the furnace around a practical loading method

Large components create a handling problem before heating starts. They need lifting access, stable support and sufficient clearance during loading. Reaching into a fixed chamber can make fixture placement and inspection difficult.

Heavy sections also heat and cool differently from the furnace air. The process must account for load mass, support contact and the temperature inside the component. We begin a similar requirement with the heaviest representative batch and the site's lifting arrangement, then develop the working-zone and thermal specifications.

  • Define the full loaded envelope, including supports and lifting clearance.
  • Check mass distribution on the hearth as well as total weight.
  • Coordinate car travel, door opening and floor space in front of the furnace.
  • Assess the thermal profile with representative load measurements.

The equipment solution

External loading on a refractory-lined rail car

The car is shown withdrawn from the chamber, leaving the refractory-lined platform accessible from above and around its sides. Floor rails align it with the furnace opening.

A raised vertical door exposes the full loading entrance. The arrangement separates the loading position from the enclosed heating space, allowing fixtures and components to be positioned before insertion. For a comparable HuanYu project, hearth loading, travel, sealing and site handling would be sized together.
